Drum breaks, also often referred to as “fills”, are aimed at joining two adjacent segments. This fairly long break, comprising one whole measure, is used to mark an important transition within the musical piece, such as for instance the passage from a verse to the chorus. In dealing with a binary groove, you will generally also opt for a binary break. This course provides a video demonstration example, four technical exercises with their corresponding recordings, as well as six drum grooves you can play along to backing tracks.
