Playing Ghost Notes
DRUMS, Multimedia tutorials, Techniques, How 2 Play Drums
Ghost notes are snare drum strokes which are executed much more softly and quietly than their neighboring strokes. They contribute considerably to the feel that is created by drumming giving it depth and fullness. Depending on where the ghost notes are placed, you can play the groove more laid-back (i.e. at the back side of the beat) or less so. This course provides a video demonstration example, three technical exercises with their corresponding recordings, as well as seven drum grooves you can play along to backing tracks.
